Scratch Player randomly drops down to 1 FPS and stays at it
Hi,
Recently, as of when I started work on a project about 2-3 days ago, I've noticed an issue that has persistently gotten worse, and renders some projects unplayable for me.
It seems that if I don't input anything into the computer (no clicking and no key presses) the scratch player suddenly after a few seconds drops to 1 FPS and won't go back until I press any key or click with my mouse.
It affects more than just the player, for example variables start updating only once per second, and everything else just seems to update at the same speed. This only seems to happen in the editor and unshared projects, however a shared project has done the same thing once.
To reproduce, an easy way for me at least was to get a sprite to follow the cursor. Wiggle the mouse around for a bit but don't press or click anything, and the sprite will start updating only once per second. To get it to stop, press anything.
Uninstalling extensions didn't work, clearing cache, restarting computer etc.
I use Edge and I don't recall this happening on Chrome. However I currently can only use Edge, so any help would be appreciated.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 110.0.0.0, No Flash versions detected

It can be a Scratch issue, as I’ve had this issue on Windows before, as when switching tabs, every other tab becomes inactive, so it is probably a feature of Edge, to use less resources on your computer.
It’s similar to when your computer turns off after a long period of inactivity.
