Yeahh it's existed for a while:


(also existed in 1.x, trying to change the backdrop from a sprite in 1.x causes an error)

I've also encountered this glitch before. It happens when you enter a cloned sprite. You can do that by going into full screen and double clicking on a clone. While in a cloned sprite, you can run scripts to change the properties of that specific clone. Remember that if you alter the inside of a cloned sprite, the changes will also apply to the original sprite. The reason it doesn't seem like you selected anything, is because a clone is not stored as an independent sprite in a project.

What do you mean by “its a feature”? I mean motion blocks aren't really meant to be in the stage but it's not really breaking the entire thing

Try dragging and using a SAY block onto the stage. Then things look really broken.

I've done that before. When I tried it, it just worked but it was in a corner I believe. In 2.0 it does nothing.

This has been something that has been around since 1.x. You can drag a script from the sprite onto the stage or the other way around, even if the block does not appear there.
