Some gimmicks we could have are some is a surrender option that would let you run away from any battle regardless of any special conditions put in place (like a magic attack that prevent you from running away) the cost is you would have to give up some of your items and currency (ie. healing items, gold, etc). Though maybe certain items can be enchanted so that they can't be given up.

What are characters like wizard, swordsman, and brawler that we could add? We have other people in the group working on this game besides me and we're working on a tech demo. One question how will we share files for the game?

Some classes we could have are wizards, brawlers, and swordsmen (Like you said), but we could also have an archer class which use more ranged attacks but is more vulnerable to melee. A thief class could also be implemented, this class could have both ranged and melee attacks but would be weak to magic attacks. Another class we could have is a builder class, the builder would be more of a support class and could maybe build walls around a chosen party member, the wall could block an attack or two. The builder would also be able to build a wall around the entire team increasing their defense but decreasing speed/agility.
To answer your second question we could opt for a code/password saving system though you have to remember or write down the code/password every time you want to play (unless you want to start over or finish the game in one sitting). This code/password system can get cumbersome. (not to mention a waste of paper!) So instead we should use a file saving system (using cloud var. or lists) which would be more complex and may hinder the game's performance but will save paper and time on the player's end.

What are our weapon ideas? And attacks?
Some weapon ideas we could use are two legendary all-powerful swords that the player gets during a side quest. There would be a light sword and a dark sword, each sword has different attacks and plays to different strategies. Of course the swords are practically of equal strength, but cater to different players. We could also have a joke/easter egg weapon like a banana or a gold stick, that does one million or something like that. Then we could have a “Dagger of Daylight” that has increased damage if it's outside. We could also have a “Surge Gauntlet” that deals high damage, but you can't attack the next turn. The last idea I have (and this is more of a gimmick). we could have rings that increase certain stat(s). For example, we could have a fortified ring that increases the defense stat. Or a “Greed Ring” that increases the amount of gold given for winning a battle tenfold but your teams max HP is dramatically lowered to the point of the ring almost not being worth it.
-Weapons could have three different attacks-
-A normal attack that you can use upon obtaining the weapon.
-A stat increasing move.
-A special move that is learned when you get skilled enough to learn (ie. Weapon XP or a side quest).
Anyways, those are my ideas. Use the ones you like or alter them, it's fine if you cut some.
