that’s scratch’s rules. previously the 500 limit applied but @jeffalo fixed it. so now there is no problem to make a new topic without the OP’s permission.

any topic created without the OP’s permission is considered a duplicate. the topics not lagging and just to update the OP is not a reason. there are multiple posts where the OP is inactive and are about scratch 2.0, still no one can make a new topic (unless the Scratch Team gives you permission)

just opened the topic on my phone and its a bit laggy I feel we'd be better off stoping the problem early before its noticable on higher end devices
