Minecraft Topic III: My mom says it's nice!

Everyone keeps pitting Java and Bedrock against each other as if it's a competition, but you can literally just play both. I've noticed that nearly every single time someone says something positive about Bedrock, it gets shot down. (I'm a Java main, but honestly I'm tired of the whole Java/Bedrock debate)

Not always, here on scratch for example, most ppl are bedrock (as in everywhere in general)

Guys, how often do you find diamonds? In 300 Minecraft days I found only 4 (to be fair, I spent most time building but still)

Not too often, If I do a deep cave exploration for about 20-30 minutes I might find like 2-3.

same… like idk how but in 40 minutes of mining in deep cave I only found 13 iron whereas in any normal mine, for the same time, I usually find 20~

I think it's less of a direct contest and more like one is obviously the favored child (Bedrock) and that incenses Java players because they were there first.

Even the name “Java Edition” stings. The C++ port that, regardless of quality, exists to basically shill the Minecraft Store, is the one that's just called “Minecraft,” but the original PC version is called an “edition” like it's a port or something.

Very rarely in older editions, but I think they made diamonds more common after Trails and Tales because I find them constantly at the bottom of the world. Combined with max Fortune I've got like two or three stacks of diamonds on me at all times.

Well, I mean, there was that one time where Mojang introduced hardcore for Bedrock but they decided that they wanted to play Java Edition and make it look like they were playing bedrock instead of actually playing Bedrock, and Java does get more bug fixes, but I guess you could be right..

I think that it's more of a “The developers like Java, Microsoft likes Bedrock” thing.

That's actually really funny. Based Mojang. But Bedrock is the one that gets its own dedicated modding API, mapmaking tools, and peer-to-peer multiplayer.

(Do you have a video of them playing Java and pretending it's Bedrock?)

That is true.

Also IIRC the reason Bedrock is so much glitchier and hard to fix than Java is because the people who architected Bedrock decided to design everything with the expectation that the game would always run at 20TPS. Legacy console and Java have measures in place for lag compensation but Bedrock doesn't, which is how you get those videos of people dying of fall damage when they're just pillaring. In singleplayer.

The moral of the story is to never let Microsoft touch a codebase, ever.

Bedrock running at that rate is just, well, idk how laggy that is but bedrock = almost no lag…

the planks are great, I love the color, but the logs look weird. Yes ik that's what actual birch trees look like but those look weird too.

I'm not sure what you mean. TPS != FPS.

Microsoft prefers bedrock bc it's the one who sells best and therefore they want to upgrade it and make sell even more.
And bedrock doesn't rlly have lag, like kind of everything thing is loaded, but except when going perfect, it might have delay
