But that would only be available in Creative for obvious reasons

Technically, you CAN disable it, just don't place it between two log blocks.

Still doesn’t work, the wood needs to also not be in the same direction

Maybe use explosives? The dragon egg is explosion resistant, and if you speculate that it's not too close to a build of yours (or it won't do too much damage) you could let a few tnts off in the area.

Did it fall into the end portal when you right clicked it? Because if it did it should be at spawn.

Convert ur world to java, open ur world, press esc on ur keyboard, click on start lan server, then click on cheats enabled, then start lan server, then in chat type /give @s 122 1
this will give u ur dragon egg

Make a copy of the the world and in the copy go into creative and find it.

This is a good idea. If you think it fell underground then you can make a xray machine by making a 2 block hole, putting a slab at the bottom, pointing a piston (it's better with a sticky piston) with a block towards you and turning it on, and the final thing is placing a piece of snow on top of the block you are inside of.

Never mind, I found it after I wrote this. It was at least 5 minutes of panicking I’ll never get back, though.

You can duplicate gravity blocks by putting it on one of the leafs that make you fall then putting a lever in front of it and turn the lever on, then just save and quit then go back in! It works with the ender dragon egg so if you lose it again then you can always have a extra.

ik, i might do that with sand but the dragon egg is a big no-no for that kind of thing

Leaf litter is good in concept, but in practice… It looks kinda like an eyesore with having tons of it in green forests, with it only making sense in dry forest biomes, and you can easily gather large amounts of it for smelting. You can quickly get a stack (which smelts 32 items) in a few mere SECONDS. They really need to scale it down to a MUCH lower amount and do a bit more recoloring.

Tbh we should get the option to disable them. (my opinion)

I mean, for their appearance at least, a texture pack could fix that.
