Question,
Why do people complain about necroposting?
It's literally just someone asking for help on an outdated topic,
And then people either complain, think it's against guidelines, or just tell them to stop.
Like for Pete's sake, please stop bossing people around over one tiny thing.
I am very sorry if this topic made some people upset.

Question,
I for one ask the necroposter not to necropost and then try and answer their question if I can, but idk about others. necroposting brings up old useless(often resolved) topics and buries ones that aren't. people complain enough on topics that aren't answered on and necroposting doesn't help with that.
also, some people purposely necropost.
idk what to say really. necroposting is bad, dont' do it. if you see someone doing it ask them to stop, preferably in a respectful manner

Oh, okay, that makes much more sense now. Thanks.

Question,
We do not like to see necroposts on topics that are no longer relevant - such as questions that were asked years ago. It brings the topics back to the top of the conversation and hides more current and relevant conversations. That being said, some folks do get overly agitated when they see them and might even make a post that makes the necroposter feel unwelcome or guilty - that's not good either. A better approach is to just silently report the necropost and let the Scratch Team handle the situation.
