Adding a Play Block
I think the scratch team should make a “Start Project” block.
It's not really a block though. You can take it out and instead of reaching for the green flag, just keep it close to your code, so when you want to test your code, just click the block, and it will run the project. It basically just acts like a green flag. Ask questions in the comments!
It would look like this

It would look like this
Start Projectbut without the studs at the top and bottom.

I don't think this would make things any more convenient because it's just a few extra inches for the mouse pointer to travel.

I believe a hotkey for hitting the green flag would be functionally the same

is the green flag that far? besides there is a simple workaround: just have the scripts that run when the green flag is clicked be in a custom block, and just make it so that the custom block runs when you click the space key or something
edit: I made these two diagrams but then I realised they don't really show my point but I worked really hard on them so here they are I guess

Zero support. The green flag is right next to the code area!

I think the scratch team should make a “Start Project” block.Code doesn’t run in a project until the green flag is clicked no matter what, this is basically useless

No support, as others have said, its easy to bring your pointer to the flag, and its an extra block you’d have to use. Sure, not to bad if its just one, but most people would likely use a lot more.

Everyone. Stop spamming and advertising! It is very rude! Stop!you’re probably referring to our signatures. They’re not part of our posts, rather, automatic things added. You can set your own by going to Discussion jome(Scratch.mit.edu/discuss) and scrolling down, you’ll see the button to set it.
They don’t show up on mobile, so you can tell if they’re a signature.
