You can leave a studio by going into the curator's tab, finding yourself and removing yourself.

I know

you get messages when something happens - comments, studio activity, forum activity, loves, favorites, etc. if you want to get more messages, i suggest starting a conversation with somebody or creating a new project or studio.

Lot of information has already been said but you should get notified…

• Immediately (or close to it) every time someone likes, favorites, remixes, or comments (on) your project or profile page.
  
• Once a day for studio notifications. It's more of an “end-of-day” (at least for me, I get it towards the end of the day) recap of what's happened in your studio(s) in the last 24 hours.

As you may have noticed, forums also have their own notifications system… you should get one as soon as new activity (that you haven't seen) occurs. If more stuff happens after that, you still only get the first notification.

If you're not getting any notifications, then everything but (maybe) the studio(s) has been quiet.
