yes. this could be used for jokes and add a huge amount of fun to the website. there isn't any reason it shouldn't exist either.

I don't think this fits the rest of the emojis, and technically it's artwork made by someone else so they should credit it somehow.

I have no userscripts or anything for github installed, and AFAIK github has no official credits for this emoji.

though i do agree scratch should add some sort of credits for this, perhaps when you hover over the emoji it will display a sort of tooltip style thing that gives credit?

Judging from the emojis we've seen in the past, it's likely this would only become an April Fools emoji if it was added. However, there is still a possibility it could become a normal emoji.

So true. This emoji is absolutely necessary to be able to correctly and efficiently portray our emotions whenever we are feeling like doing a little bit of trolling mischievous, as there is no emoji quite like it on Scratch yet. Here's one you can use on the forums for now, until the Scratch Team implements this suggestion (which would hopefully be sometime in the near future)

maybe it would work as an april fools only emoji, but it's not a very good choice for a regular emoji in my opinion. it's outdated and really doesn't fit in with the style of the other emojis.

According to google, the trollface image was made an 18-year-old on MS paint. Look it up

Do we really need this? We can just use the emojis from Project Customoji and Project Forumoji. Besides, the trollface is copyrighted, but not trademarked, according to Wikipedia.

Moreover, we don't need emojis for every single thing. We don't need a @griffpatch emoji, we don't need a @Za-Chary emoji, and we don't need a skull emoji. We can just use the actual emoji, instead of adding a new emoji.

2. sure, its copyrighted, then how come literally tons of companies have used it before in promotions, and how its used so much on media.
3. one of those is not like the other: the skull emoji is an actual emoji approved by the emoji peoples, and a trollface emoji is super popular compared to others custom ones.

I agree with everyone above, it shouldn't be a regular emoji, but maybe for April Fools 2023. I don't see it being added to the site as a regular emoji because the ST tends to promote things that are positive and not trying to cause trouble, but that's why it is added on April Fools would make sense.

I enjoy the thought of a collective of individuals, assumedly including myself and any other persons addressed in this group communication partake in acts of mischief, varying levels of pestering, likely pursuing amusement, or attempting to elicit a reaction from another individual.

In other words, “We do a little trolling.”

No support. You're not a baby anymore and you don't need to use Scratch for all your social media needs. You have other options like T*****r, R****t, and D*****d. Just use those because Scratch isn't meant to be a full-blown social medium or chat group (unlike what many groups of Scratchers that do stuff like RP and hang out on studios and forums would tell you).

They've probably asked for permission before using the trollface. Or they've most likely claimed fair use of the image.
