When you make a post saying "Bump", he post will say "Today 10:10:10 ExampleUser bumped this topic"

instead of the forum post box, it will just say that.

They seem to accomplish the same thing with little difference. Why, specifically, should the Scratch Team implement this? Also, there's many ways of bumping a topic, like Bumt, a Bump image, or a joke about bumps. That means this would only work a fraction of the time. What's the point?

No support because then you can't bump with images

But why? There isn't any issue with saying “bump”.

I'll start using bring up this topic if this was to happen.

What about users like k0d3rrr who do this? (k0d3rrr if you’re reading this I think your bumps are hilarious and creative, even if a lot of TFH don’t think so)

Anyway, time to tremendously bump this topic.

I can also see a few other issues. This algorithm might assume that quoting someone bumping would also bump the topic. Also, if there was a topic about bumping, like a new forumer asking about how to bump a topic, then they'll have bumped the topic without even meaning it.

I actually like this, it would make very bumped topics far more readable, even if some fun is lost in creative bumping.

Why are bumps counted as posts (#7 next to the bumping message)? In my opinion, they shouldn’t be counted when visiting topic pages, as in a sense, they aren’t posts, and it would be strange when one page can only take 1 post while the other can take 20, which reduces the advantages of the suggestion. On a forum’s homepage, it should show, but perhaps with a special message like “Today 10:10:10 bumped by ExampleUser”.

Posts can become lost in chains of bumps, and considering that bumps take up a whole post, it is a little space-consuming, distractive and annoying. I have mixed feelings about this, however, mainly due to how bumps are often not one-worded “bumps”, and so is it really an effective solution on its own? I think that I did see a topic for a bump button before, and it can work with this suggestion well.

No Support - Just saying “Bump” gives the same amount of info as this would.

No. What's the problem with bumping normally? What would change? You could work around this by using the scratchblocks addon.

Become a Cinderella on the G string and do the Viennese Waltz and (bump v)

See? No difference.

This person is also correct. You could just say “Bring up this topic.”

Here's another idea that you might want to add into the post.
Maybe you could mark a post as a bump, it would look differently, you could still see the content behind it, and

It would still allow for a bump image and also ‘creative bumps’.
This could automatically turn on in some cases.

Though, that is a pretty good mockup. I just feel there isn't any real need for this. Just… bump. And, imagine what it would look like if there was nothing but bumps. Dead topic exist, even if they're trying not to de dead.

The thing is, the feature would do nothing. Obviously, we can tell that they're bumping.

I don't think the hide contents feature is necessary, but thank you for contributing.
All in all, I just want an explanation on how this is useful.

Um I think there's a duplicate but I can't access it

Or at least they're both accomplishing the same thing but one is done by pressing a button and one automatically does that when you type “bump”

That's a topic that no longer exists - it was probably merged with another topic.

This is possibly a duplicate of a topic from 2015.

Either way that means it's a duplicate, and I think @Quantum-Cat is right:
