Personally, I'm hoping it's a set up for a SEKAI merge, that's what I thought the WORLD LINK events were at first.
I see what you mean by filler though. Depending on who's writing it, it might end up like that…

It's just a movie and everyone deserves the right to be utterly shocked and excited about it. Anyhoo in storytelling they don't have to stick to 1 storyline, they can have multiple, especially in a game. It's similar to sidequests. What if the devs don't want to just end the story yet?

Random question that's mostly just to do with me making daft little fanfiction aus.
Which character is most likely to be a homeless god of calamity trying to change their ways by doing odd jobs and gaining enough followers to become a god of good fortune, thus gaining a shrine dedicated to them?
I was thinking Tsukasa, but I'm not sure where Saki comes into the equation, and once you remove the Saki, the Tsukasa is irrevocably altered.
