I've seen people that have used gifs before in their projects and I don't know how to use them. does anyone here know how?

they are the same as any other picture format, just import them as background or sprite

No, how do I make them move like they originally did?

1.I look up the gif i want and say gif after it
example: kitty.gifs
2. go to ___ gifs tumblr
example: kitty gifs tumblr
3. scroll down to find the gif you want
4. click it
5. choose any other suggestions from what it gives you
6. click it
7. On your mouse, click the right button part.
8. click save link as…
9. go to scratch
10. hover your moue over your profile picture and click “change”
11. pick the picture and boom!
~note: you will have to remember what the file is called~
