Are ads or f4f allowed on Scratch? Well, the answer is yes, and no. The good thing about ads are they can be fun, inspiring, and good-fame making if it's a good project. The bad thing about them is that it can be impolite, boring, fame-hungry, or even against the guidelines, and that is when you use it in wrong places. Bad advertising can also lead to spam or chain-mail & normally it can lead to mass reports on your profile. I'd advise you to advertise on an ad studio or my profile…

Is f4f okay on Scratch? The answer is, similar to advertising. Have you heard @aidenplaz1 who begs for being famous on Scratch? Repeatedly doing f4f can turn into spam, bad ads, and follow begs.
Example for WRONG telling people not to advertise:

Ads are FINE on my profile
“ check out this game! <insert link> ”
“ no ads! ”
You can advertise where allowed.
Example for RIGHT telling people not to advertise
supermanrules1234
don't advertise on my profile
“ check out this game! <insert link> ”
“ no ads! ”
Stop advertsising where it ins't allowed.
Be respectful to the Scratch community and please don't advertise or f4f in wrong places.

To the OP, it's good that you want to help out with new scratchers, but I don't think the ST are looking for any guide topics at the moment. You can answer scratchers questions here whenever they ask!

yes, F4F is fine. just dont post it in a crazy way. on ads though, they are also allowed. as long as they are scratch related and is posted in an ad friendly place, like the show and tell forums, that is fine.
