Leaving/Vacation/GDPR Messages on WIBD
This is basically a message that can appear on people's “What I've been doing” section. These can appear for one of the following:
A.) The user hasn't stated that they're leaving, but they haven't logged in in 1+ year. This is an automated process (credit to Marc92020)
B.) The account has marked their account as inactive through Account Settings (credit to Marc92020).
C.) The account has been put in Vacation Mode, which means that they'll be gone for a specified set of time. This can range from 1 week to 1 year.
D.) The owner of the account has moved to a new account (credit to Marc92020)
By the way, the Scratch Cat images (minus the first one) are modified versions of the ones from April Fools 2016.
I think this makes sense, because this way, people won't start spreading rumors about what happened to a dead account, for example, saying that they were banned when they just simply decided to pack their stuff and move on.
Here is a mockup for the buttons where you could set your statuses in Account Settings (courtesy of Marc92020):

I think this would definitely help to make things more clear. I also really love the designs. I hope this gets implemented.
So, I just wonder how do you mark your account “innactive” or “moved to @Example-User.” Do you do it in settings I would assume?

Hello Scratch Team. You have been pushing a liberal political agenda on this site for far too long. This site should stay out of politics. People should be able to still post their political opinions, but there shouldn’t be any “official” political stance or Scratch. The ST is not going to change this on their own, and shoot down any attempts asking them to change. Please put this in your signature if you agree that
Scratch should be politically neutral.
The ST’s biggest defense is that they’re being welcoming, but they can be perfectly welcoming of all people and stay out of politics. Scratch is about coding, and that should be the Scratch Team’s biggest concern to maintain.
This is my signature. I am allowed to adertize here.

Also, yes, you would go to Account Settings.

Most of these could just be done using profile comments, I would think. Just say that you moved accounts or are on vacation on your profile, then close comments. …On second thought, maybe some people want to allow others to comment on their profile while they're gone, so there is a bit of merit with your suggestion, I think.
However, there is a problem with your first one, option (A). The “What I've been doing” tab on a profile mainly shows when someone shares projects, loves/favorites other projects, follows users, and probably some other studio things. But it's completely possible for someone to be active without doing any of these things. Maybe they just like chatting on their profile comments. Maybe they mainly use the forums. Maybe they just use Scratch to play projects and chat in studios without loving or curating any of them. In these cases, it would be inaccurate to call the account “inactive,” simply because they have been active — just not in any ways that puts their activity into the “What I've been doing” tab.
I think any “inactivity” message should be done voluntarily. So, your option (B) rather than your option (A), I'd say.
I might also change option (B) slightly so that it explicitly says they are “inactive” rather than “left Scratch.” Those two things might mean different things to different people. For example, during the school year, I am “inactive” but I would not say that I “left Scratch.” If I say I am “inactive” — even if I don't say a day in which I expect to return — then I think Scratchers would expect that I could return someday. But, if I say I “left Scratch,” then I think that comes across to other Scratchers as “I am never coming back.”

Right, right. So I'll remove A and edit B, then. Thanks for your help!

The Vacation Mode says “By request of the owner”. Would you have to contact the Scratch Team to change the mode?

Support, this will stop a bit of confusion and spam in some profiles, maybe this could be implemented in the user's projects too?

Sorry, you have to wait 60 seconds between posts.
If you can't download the normal 2.0 editor, try these steps:
Download the Adobe Flash Player Projecter here: https://web.archive.org/web/20220401020702/https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html (sadly they took it down recently from the official site, thanks to the Internet Archive for archiving it)
Select the program that is right for your device. Do not download the debugger, just the projector. After you download it, install/open it.
Download Scratch 2.0 here: http://cdn.scratch.mit.edu/scratchr2/static/__ff878b6c9b6c4d18fab154a707dc253c__/Scratch.swf
Now, go into the Flash Player, and press File > Open, and then select the .swf file you downloaded.
Now you should be able to use Scratch 2.0 on your computer!

YES! Thank you! My only request is to make the “You are now leaving” text using a font, rather than hand-drawn. The Scratch logo and everything else can stay the way it is.
