daily ideas:

⇨ may 1st: introduce yourself! include your nickname, cabin, hobbies, etc.
⇨ may 2nd: try representing yourself doing something with your hobby - if your hobby is art, why don't draw a few of your favorite things? if it's music, maybe you can play one of your favorite songs through an instrument you play. be creative, and have fun!
⇨ may 3rd: get to know your fellow cabin-mates! switch to another cabin for a whole day! of course, this doesn't mean you add your minutes/words there, but feel free to hang out, chat, and play games

(I'm just gonna use grammar for this one post)

Hey! I'm Sophia and I'll be co-leading Digital Dream with @Aishani_7640.

Here's a brief introduction about- well- me!

- I met Aishani at the beginning of my journey on this Scratch account, but I've joined for almost two years on my @IcePrincess_Sophia account already
- I started digital art two or three years ago, when I first started liking art
- I started Scratch Vector Art a long time ago as well, and I remember making tons of icon creators and thinking of new ideas for them
- I just found out that Scratch camps were a thing, a few months ago I signed up for SWC and didn't think that much of it, but then I got into the Contemporary cabin and started becoming really active there I'm super excited to be a co-leader for AAC!
- basic information about me:
- I'm 11, almost 12 years old, in middle school
- I enjoy drawing and writing, especially digital art
- I love communicating with others on Scratch
- I am a girl
- I'm asian (like literally)
- I don't have any pets, sadly
- I'm obsessed with being aesthetic
- I have a sister, @BeccaStarTheBest_90
- The rest about me I just forgot xD

Here are some daily ideas!

- "According to webmd.com, 'synesthesia is a fancy name for when you experience one of your senses through another. For example, you might hear the name “Alex” and see green. Or you might read the word “street” and taste citrus fruit.' Think of the broad word “art.” What colors or images do you think of when you think of art? For example, maybe you might think of the color purple. Or smell earthy smells. Everyone has a different opinion, so draw what you think of! You can add a splash of color to your art, make a collage of different fruits and pastries, or make an animation that talks about your answer to this daily. Excited to see what you come up with!“
- ”Use this color generator (https://coolors.co) and generate five different colors. Draw something with these five colors. Make sure to write down what colors you used as well!“
- ”Draw the person you admire the most. For example, you could draw a relative, a friend, or someone famous. You could even draw another Scratcher!"
(I might add more)

And here are some ways to reward the cabins.

- Of course, points. You could say “do this daily for 200 points for your cabin!” or “finish this weekly to earn 1000 points for your cabin!”
- Bonuses. In dailies or weeklies you could included “bonuses,” so if the person doing the daily/weekly makes some more effort to do a bonus, they could earn some more points. For example, “Bonus: try to use only three colors in your drawing in order to earn 100 more points!”
- A weird idea I came up with- I don't know if this is original or not- which I might use for my own camp- but you could do “point swaps/point gifts” or whatever you want them to be called. A cabin could reward another cabin with however many points they select, so they could give an amount of points that are from their cabin to another cabin. This could be a certain event that allows a cabin to give points to others.
(again, might add more)

FINAL THINGS

Dailies

AAC Dailies

⇨ May 1st: It’s Day One of camp! So, introduce yourself! Include your nickname, cabin, hobbies, etc. For a bonus of 100 points, you may use a drawing representation to show yourself!
⇨ May 2nd: Try representing yourself doing your hobby - If your hobby is art, why don't you draw yourself drawing a few of your favorite things? If it's music, maybe you can animate yourself play one of your favorite songs on an instrument. Be creative, and have fun! Your cabin earns 250 points for this.
⇨ May 3rd: Get to know your fellow cabin-mates! Switch to another cabin for a whole day - of course, this doesn't mean you add your progress count there, but feel free to hang out, chat, and play games
⇨ May 4th: Synesthesia is when you experience one of your senses through another. For example, you might hear the name “Alex” and see green. Or you might read the word “street” and taste citrus fruit. Think of the broad word “art.” What colors or images do you think of when you think of art? For example, maybe you might think of the color purple. Or smell earthy smells. Everyone has a different opinion, so draw what you think of! You can add a splash of color to your art, make a collage of different fruits and pastries, or make an animation that talks about your answer to this daily. Excited to see what you come up with! Get your cabin 300 points for doing this.
⇨ May 5th: Use this color generator https://coolors.co and generate five different colors. Draw something with these five colors. Make sure to write down/add the image of what colors you used! You will get 200 points upon completing this.
⇨ May 6th: Draw the person you admire the most. For example, you could draw a relative, a friend, or someone famous. You could even draw another Scratcher! This daily is worth 350 points.
⇨ May 7th: Art trades! Choose someone who is not from your cabin, and do an art trade with them. An art trade is a term used to describe an exchange of art, between two artists. Comment below saying something similar to “Art trade! I'm in ____ cabin, and this is the character I would like you to draw: ________”. You must share both art pieces between the two traders, in order to earn 300 points each!
⇨ May 8th: First week of camp is officially over! How are you feeling? For today, try expressing your feelings through art. For example, maybe you're feeling calm and peaceful, so you can try and draw a water stream. Be creative, in order to earn 250 points for your cabin! Have fun <3
⇨ May 9th: Let's try and recreate work from the past! Depending on the cabin you're in, try recreating something that you made at least 1 year ago! If you're in editing, try finding a collage that you made from.. let's say 2019. Then, you have to try and recreate it, using the same colors and theme, but different photos. If you're in digital cabin, try finding an art piece you made a few years ago! Then try and replicate it, using a different style of art. For doing this, you may earn 350 points for your cabin!
⇨ May 10th: Ask a camper from a different cabin how they look. Based on this, draw a PFP for them! If they are not comfortable with revealing their appearance, you may use their OC. This will earn you 200 points.
⇨ May 11th: No proper daily for today, but work on art for a minimum of 20 mins! Earn 200 points if you do this.
⇨ May 12th: Pick your favorite book/movie/series and do some fan art for it! Draw the main character, create a collage on one of the themes/plots in it, or simply illustrate a scene. It’s up to you - 300 points to your cabin if completed!
May 13th: Today, you’re going to draw your pet(s)! If you don’t have any (like me), then you can draw your favorite animal, or make an aesthetic/edit/collage on it - finish the daily for 250 points!
⇨ May 14th: Create a self-portrait for yourself! It can be a 100% realistic, unedited drawing of you, a more perfect cartoon drawing, or even a collage/abstract piece of what makes you YOU, not necessarily how you look. Be creative, reflect on yourself, get a fresh idea and start working! This will earn your cabin 500 points!
⇨ May 15th: More fan art today this time, you will be picking one of the main characters and redesigning them. This could be a glowup, new outfit, body changes, what they WANT to look like, what you imagined them as, etc. With this, your cabin comes 400 points closer to victory!
⇨ May 16th: Today onwards, we’ll be focusing somewhat on developing your main OC. (If you don’t have one, now’s the time to make one.) Draw/redraw your OC in a style in which they aren’t usually represented by you. You can even photoshop/edit many human pictures to make your OC. With this, you earn 200 points!
⇨ May 17th: For some spatial understanding, let’s take another aspect of your OC. Today, you will be layouting/graphic designing/drawing your OC’s room/bedroom. What do they do? Where do the hang out? Where do they sleep? Do they like their room? Do this daily, and bag a solid 400 points!
⇨ May 18th: Last day working on your OC! Draw/design their pet! It could be mythical, real, hybrid, or completely out of your imagination. Enjoy 200 points for doing this.
⇨ May 19th: We’re taking a break! Work on your art/design for a minimum of 15 minutes, getting 150 points!
⇨ May 20th: Today’s daily is about widening your artistic reach. Try drawing in styles, themes, mediums or forms you usually don’t create. For example, if you do more realism, try cartooning. If your art is usually happy and bright, take darker tones, like horror. If you’re the typical digital artist, grab a piece of paper and get sketching. Or if you love drawing humans, break it up with a drawing of an animal! When completed, bring back 450 points!
⇨ May 21st: Draw an object and give it a face. Like, you could draw a mug or cup and draw an adorable set of eyes for it! Try to somewhat express its personality with the drawing. This will be worth 150 points.
⇨ May 22nd: Try to draw yourself or another person/camper ten years later. What might you or they look like, all grown up? This will be worth 300 points.
⇨ May 23rd: Combine three animals: one that's tiny (like an ant), one that's of a medium size (like a dog), and one that's huge (like a whale.) What will your animal look like? Be as creative as you'd like! This will be worth 250 points.
⇨ May 24th: Pick a type of art (painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, music, cinema, and theater) and draw yourself or someone doing it. For example, you could pick literature, and draw yourself/someone writing on a piece of paper or typing on a computer. You can choose music and draw someone playing the violin or piano, or even singing! Add any kind of decoration you think will help the viewer understand what exactly your drawing is about. Like music notes, a pencil, scribbles on the paper, dance accessories (like pink pointe shoes or a barre), or a camera for filming. Or even working on a drawing for AAC! This will be worth 300 points.

Weeklies

Week One:

The completion of each task, with proof, gives you 1000 points. Complete all four, and you get a bonus 1000.

Task 1: Write a paragraph on what art means to you, when you started doing art, your connection with art, etc. You could call this your ‘artist background’.

Task 2: Use a random country generator to get a country name. Research it till you know some more - then draw/design anything you think represents or symbolizes it. This could be an animal, an object, a flag or even a mural!

Task 3: Select three or more of your ‘art weaknesses’ and try to put them together into one art piece! They could be animals, plants, humans, human plants, a specific gender or even a specific pose! For example, my three weaknesses are hands, horses and the side profile pose.

Task 4: Create an edit/moodboard for how your week has been. It could be your emotions, your activities, or anything else! Try to include a minimum of 7 images (could be clicked by you or from the internet)

WHAT YOU NEED TO DECIDE/DO FOR YOUR CABIN

Final Product

Now this is something really, REALLY important. Based on which cabin you lead, you must come up with a prompt for every camper (including you)’s final product - on the topic of the cabin you lead, AND connected to the AAC May theme “Summertime”. For e.g. the animation cabin’s prompt could be “Create an animation, GIF or animatic of summer flowers.” Get creative with the prompts and post them here!

Cabin Studio

Again, very high priority! You are required to create the cabin studio, then add the co-leader and me as managers. When I instruct you to, please invite your campers the studio creation step also involves setting up a cabin currency and shop.

Teaching

So you won’t actually be creating lessons or anything like a scratch school does, but please add an art tip to the cabin studio description at least once a week!

Cultural Context Research

What you are required to do is to devise a new prompt every weekend related to artists, art history and/or art culture that pertains to your cabin. E. g. If you lead the animation cabin, a prompt could be:

“Write a paragraph on Walt Disney, and how he played an important role in the world of animation. Research for a minimum of 10 minutes. You may support this with a drawing of him for bonus points.”
