This script in that specific sprite is causing it to disappear.

What you should do is this:

your button does not disappear it goes behind the thumbnail
due to scratch code update order sometimes your thumbnail goes to the front after your button does thus hiding it
use a broadcast in thumbnail sprite after putting it in the front layer to the button sprint

broadcast [bring button to front  v]

rather than using

when green flag clicked

Correction. I see the problem now. But my solution still comes into play here.
