Scratch team said that the issue is caused by cosmic ray, although I somewhat felt suspicious, because the chance of cosmic ray precisely hitting the server and disabling the chat filter is small. The filter is back online now.

an asteroid hit the moon, which sent a small piece of moon rock stuff all the way to Boston, went through the window, and crashed into the physical file for the filterbot. Then nano threw it into the fire, thinking it was trash because Nano always messes up.

I looked it up, and it said that cosmic rays can cause bit flips every three days, though. Am I mistaken on this?

@codubee is known for having humorous answers. I don't think this is the real reason that the filterbot was down. The real reason is probably too technical to the point where it's not worth describing precisely what happened.

We all know what happened at this point: the filterbot stopped working for a period of time, and now it's back. Technical glitches happen, mistakes happen, etc. The simplest explanation is probably the best one. I don't think it's worth discussing further what really happened.
