Why don't I always get messages about new forum posts?

Sometimes I don't get a message when there are new posts in discussions I've followed, even when they've shown up before. This has happened a few times recently.

Hi!
I like swimming, reading, writing and Lego.
My interests change a lot. You can talk to me about whatever you like really, but my current interests are:

- Harry Potter
- Percy Jackson
- Star Wars
- Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
- Walt Disney World
-Murder Most Unladylike (haven’t finished yet)
-The Dragon Prince (haven’t finished yet)
-A Series of Unfortunate Events

And I think that's about it. I follow back everyone that follows me, and I try to look at my follower's projects from time to time. I don't really have any good projects.

Generation 5: the first time you see this copy and paste it on top of your sig in the scratch forums and increase generation by 1. Social experiment.

It's like that since I joined scratch, I can't really tell if it's a bug or not

I've had the same issue. It could probably be because of server lag. However, you can go here to check your followed topics. It's more reliable than your messages, so you should keep the link saved.

this has always happened for me and i’ve had two previous accounts, one of which had 1000+ posts and i followed a lot of topics that didn’t always notify me. as rayli1123 said, it’s probably because of server lag.
