Welcome to 153 Minecraft Facts You (Probably) Didn't Know

Let's get started!

1. There are four mobs that only spawn in from command.
Giant (/summon giant)
Zombie Horse (/summon EntityHorse - - - (Type:4))
The Killer Bunny (/summon Rabbit - - - (RabbitType:99))
Illusioner (/summon Illusioner)
2. You can ride a horse, pig, and a Strider upside-down.
3. Using a name tag named jeb_ on a Sheep, the Sheep will constantly change wool colors.
4. A bucket of water will get rid of grass, flowers, carpets, and cobwebs.
5. You can grow giant trees by planting a 2x2 square of spruce or jungle saplings.
6. Glass can protect some of the blast damage from a TNT.
7. Place water right when you reach the ground. If done correctly, you could survive any fall! You can also use cobwebs or a lava bucket (just use a fire resistance potion first).
8. You can't place torches underwater. (Makes sense.)
9. Bring a wolf when fighting skeletons. Wolves fight skeletons.
10. You can auto-detonate a Creeper with a Flint and Steel.
11. An Enderman won't teleport away if you attack its legs.
12. Endermen aren't aggravated when you look at their eyes while wearing a Carved Pumpkin.
13. Endermen are hostile towards Endermites.
14. Endermites despawn in 2 minutes unless it is named.
15. Endermites originally looked like Silverfish, just they were purple.
16. Creepers used to explode and drop leaf particles. Were creepers made out of leaves?
17. Creepers used to be 0.1 blocks taller than they are now.
18. Zombie Villagers used to look like Zombies, just with the regular Zombie Villager head.
19. One two-story stronghold library has 233 bookshelves, and if you break each one gives you 699 books. Happy writing! :-)
20. No hostile mobs ever spawn on Mushroom Islands, unless you use commands, that is.
21. Breeding a blue and a red sheep produces a purple sheep.
22. Shooting a button with an arrow will produce a redstone signal for one minute.
23. One Coal Block smelts 80 blocks, while 9 coal (which is what one Coal Block is made of) smelts 74 blocks.
24. Notch originally planned for Torches to burn out after a while. Lanterns and other light blocks would be permanent light sources.
25. Drowned will try to crush turtle eggs at night.
26. Years ago, the place above the Nether's Bedrock ceiling would be empty, except for the tell-tale mushroom.
27. Before Minecraft worlds were “infinite”, they would be large cubes.
28. You can go past a world border by using a boat or minecart, or by using Creative Mode.
29. Detector Rails activate TNT in a minecart.
30. Mobs can ride minecarts.
31. Creepers were not in the original Minecraft title.
32. Creepers were made when a worker at Mojang failed to create a pig.
33. Creepers used to kill players with their feet.
34. Creepers would originally explode after they died.

Command Blocks can be powered by redstone. Players put in a command and the Command Block (once activated) will follow the command. (Use the /give @p command_block <quantity> command to get a Command Block. Replace the <quantity> with the amount you need.)
Barrier Blocks are invisible blocks that cannot be mined or entered. You can mine them in Creative Mode, though. (Use the /give @p barrier <quantity> command to get a Barrier Block. Replace the <quantity> with the amount you need.)
47. In a mob texture file, a Mojang worker may leave their name there as a small easter egg.
48. In one of the cave ambiance sounds, if you play it on a spectrogram, it resembles a Creeper.
49. Beds used to come in only red.
50. Pillows on beds are completely flat.
51. Minecraft has four game modes. Survival, Creative, Adventure, and Spectator.
52. You can change the text color on a sign by using dye.
53. Copper oxidizes over time. To stop this, use honeycombs.
54. You can clone maps by using a cartography table.
55. Bedrock is a very low-contrast version of stone blocks.

131a. Ghasts have a hidden sound called the affectionate_scream.ogg.

132. You can smelt sea pickles into green dye.
133. Breaking the bottom of a Cactus makes all Cactus Blocks on top fall.
134. With expert thinking and without using cheats, you can get an iron golem to attack its villagers.
135. If a big or medium slime or magma cube is named with a name tag, and then dies, its smaller versions will have the same name.
136. Shoot an arrow through lava to get a flaming arrow.
137. Tinted glass lets no light through.
138. Jungle wood is the only type of wood that is not used in other items (besides fences, fence gates, doors, stairs, slabs, and buttons) as a texture.
139. Chorus plants can grow into larger Chorus plants.
140. Crying Obsidian actually “cries”.
141. Crying Obsidian cannot be made into a Nether Portal. (That would be cool!)
142. Creepers see in a green hue.
143. Spiders see in multiple views of the view in front of him.
144. Cave Spiders see like Spiders, just with a red-ish hue.
145. Barrier Blocks can let rain and snow through.
146a. Zombies attack Baby Turtles.
146b. Zombies attack Turtle Eggs.
147. TNT is a higher-pitched Creeper explosion.
148. It is possible to be on Seed 0.
149. On Minecraft PC, when you press F3 you may see W1, W2, M, and C (and others). This keeps track of how many of this mob is in a chunk. M is for Hostile Mobs, C is for Passive Mobs, etc.

151. There was planned to be a fourth dimension. The Sky Dimension would be peaceful and such.
152a. The Wither is nicknamed “Simmons” at Mojang. Sounds like “summons”.
152b. The Ender Dragon is nicknamed “Jeans”.
153. Villagers can “equip” armor. It doesn't appear, but it does work, and they drop it upon death. To do this, use a Dispenser.

gonna follow this discussion just so i can keep coming back and reading this thing until i finish

edit: i love how half of these are just basic minecraft knowledge and the other half are stuff i forgot existed like the Giant

153 Minecraft Facts You (Possibly) Didn't Know

Here are some bedrock stuff that I know about:

1. In bedrock, the most powerful tool are swords on java however, they're axes.
2. Bedrock does not have Quasi-connectivity, sadly.
3. Armor/Armour stands have arms in bedrock by default.
4. There is a special command called “/playanimation”. It's basically what you think it is but, it is a bedrock exclusive.

also the enderdragon's name isnt “jeans”, its Jeans? with a question mark. her name was confirmed by notch i think
