In my project, the sprite can jump just fine and it looks smooth, but the issue is when I die while jumping, my character ends up going into the ground due to the velocity (im guessing) continuing to go down despite being back at the start (at the propor y coord) resulting in the sprite going down the y axis. Sorry if this is confusing. Is there any other possible code to where it jumps smoothly but stops at the cartain y coord or stops going negative, like a way to stop the motion?

I have tried to fix it but the jump code is too annoying for me so I recommend you follow the youtube tutorial since you are still a new scratcher. here one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gkSbtpmpXI it really easy to follow and I also used to follow this tutorial before
