My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 11.6, Firefox 94.0, No Flash versions detected

(1) I got an alert from the Scratch Team in my messages.
(2) I did not dismiss it.
(3) It got dismissed automatically after a few minutes
(4) There's constantly a “1” in my Message Count only on scratchr2 pages - that is, profiles and the forums.

This is really annoying and is persistent. I cleared my browser cache and it still happens.
