Hello! I am a weirdo who tests computers, messes with the console, and is learning HTML and Python.

By the way, you don't need to use Proxmox as a server, you can put Proxmox on internal storage and output it to a display while still being used as a server.

Umm try installing cmatrix-git from the AUR with your favorite helper tool.
git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/cmatrix-git.git
cd cmatrix-git
makepkg -i
^ I believe that is the code, but I'm not 100% sure. I'd recommend using yay or something like that instead.

Hey. I use arch btw. I also use a Fedora Silverblue system too!

Should I replace Windows with Ubuntu, dualboot or stay on Windows? I've already got the live CD (or USB) working and already booted from it a couple weeks ago, but didn't click install.

I'd recommend dual booting, then if you realise you need to do something on the other OS you can easily switch back.

If you have a small SSD, back up your entire SSD to a USB drive using dd. That way you'll have a backup of Windows, but you'll have your entire SSD available to use.

I'm duplicating my ssd to an external one, and installing manjaro onto that (I can only shrink 778mb of unnalocated space from my c drive whixh isn't enough for manjaro

The problem is Windows is on an insider build and apparently Windows update sometimes messes up Linux. I don't feel like reinstalling Windows on top of it, but I can if I have to.

Updating will not and can't affect other operating systems and file systems.

It's 256GB (roughly half used). I have both a large USB and external hard drive which I got recently. I've got some data on both, but I'm slowly migrating all my important stuff to the external drive, so the USB should be free.

Big Windows updates can kill GRUB

Nothing is an excuse to not backup though

Don't worry, I backed up the documents, music and pictures folders and my bookmarks already. I don't really care too much about the rest.
