So I'm creating a usb boot drive thingie for the first time:

To delete an OS simply delete the partition the OS was installed to.

use rufus, it flashes stuff in a way that's compatible with windows too, otherwise the drive might disappear

It works for me, and your hardware was probably broken before using Etcher.

I don't understand partitions so I didn't install Zorin, I only live-booted it. I didn't want to mess up my laptop.

Anyone know how to use this?

I don't really understand the partitioning menu, and, like I said, I don't want to break anything.

Sometimes, a OS will have a “Automatically partition drive”. So you could try that option.

Yeah Windows and another OS dual booting is a bit risky - make sure you have backups before attempting a partition/install.

I've tried that, there doesn't seem to be a partition as far as I can see.

So I installed Ubuntu (instead of Zorin– I like it better) but it says “no wifi adapter found” when I try to connect to wifi. I have a mediatek wifi adapter (I think).

Nevermind. I just uninstalled Ubuntu after a lot of work, including a scary bios terminal (fixed by changing the boot order). I thought I almost bricked my device; I will not be trying it again any time soon.

Windows 11 is more than enough for me.
