when this sprite clicked
how do I make it detect when anything is clicked and make it wait for 
(...)
and then register it on the sprite 
(...time)

ok so maybe try:
When Green flag clicked
forever
if touching mouse pointer and mouse down then
(whatever you want it to do)
wait (however long you want the cooldown to be) seconds
Fun fact: When you go to my account ( Here: https://scratch.mit.edu/users/AMcFad09/ ) when you press the blue button it goes grey/gray! try it!

Gen 1: When u see this put it on ur signature by going to discussion home, then scroll to bottom and press change my signature. once u did that change Gen by 1.

when this sprite clicked :: control
wait until <(cooldown) = [0]> :: events
broadcast [message1 v] and wait :: control

when I receive [message1 v]::control
set [cooldown v] to [5]
repeat [5] :: events
wait [1] secs :: events
change [cooldown v] by [-1]

when I receive [message1 v]::control
...

Well scratch changed the way that youtube videos function directly from Scratch so this trick doesn't work anymore.
