Firefox is good and protects web standards, I'm using it right now.
I mean, can Google, Apple, and Microsoft especially be trusted to follow standards and not do some stupid proprietary thing?
Firefox for Android is a different story.

what are they going to do with the knowledge of whether i'm idle or not, anyway?ok fair point - but what about this?
An alarming new update from Google that hasn’t yet made headlines has suddenly put Chrome’s 2.6 billion users at risk of “surveillance, manipulation and abuse.” If you’re one of those users, this nasty new surprise just gave you a reason to quit.
Chrome has serious issues when it comes to protecting your security and your privacy. The world’s leading browser has issued one urgent fix after another this year, as high-risk exploits have been found in the wild; and just a few weeks ago, Google finally admitted it had “accidentally” allowed millions of users to be secretly tracked.
Google says it wants to change, to put your privacy first, that web tracking is now out of control and has resulted in “an erosion of trust.” But as DuckDuckGo warns, “it’s all noise until Google actually agrees to collect less data and do less behavioral targeting.”

firefox is a good browser, and i used to use it, but i don't intend on switching back from chrome anytime soon, for the same reason i think i'll keep using windows as my primary operating system. in windows' case, i don't care about the “inconistent ui” or whether the corners are rounded or flat, it doesn't affect the function of the product and i actually really like windows 10's ui. windows just works, it might not do it very gracefully but it does everything i need it to do and it does it quite efficiently. my computer also isn't a repurposed trash can that gets pinned opening up task manager. anyway, short offtopic rant about operating systems aside, the reason i still use chrome is quite similar. afaik most of googles' tracking is in their actual sites, not chrome. i use duck duck goose as a search engine and use an android phone anyway (albeit lineage os). chrome is just laid out in a way that i prefer. And Linux works 500 times better. Like seriously, I've very, very few problems with five different distros. Also, yes Chrome does track you, and coming up soon, it gets worse. https://www.howtogeek.com/724441/what-is-googles-floc-and-how-will-it-track-you-online/ Anyways, back on topic, I used to use FIrefox (or a fork of a fork anyways) However I now use Vivaldi, because it as better privacy, control, and customizability.

You might not be happy with hardware or price - but admit it, macOS is better than Windows.

to put it frankly, macos is a horribly designed operating system made by a company with no respect for the environment, their users, or my wallet.i use, will run at all on linux

However I now use Vivaldi, because it as better privacy, control, and customizability.Isn't Vivaldi Chromium based, and made by some radom Chinese developers, like Opera?
i also don't have anything to hide.In that sense, neither do I, but in another sense, I have everything to hide. It's my personal information, and no one has the right to sell it for their own profit behind my back. It's my data, my personal information.

always, they make their products intentionally hard to open up and/or repair, and design iphone batteries so that they last 1 day on launch (in hope that by the time the next generation of iphones launches, the battery will be so bad that you want to get the next one), which is a really big problem.with no respect for the environmentSometimes yes - sometimes no, but yeah I agree.
i often see people saying that windows is too tablet oriented, if that's the case, macos is worse. the “dock” is enormous, launchpad takes up the entire screen and has a very touchscreen-esque interface, the window management is really really bad, and things can often be really hard to find (often tucked away in menus).macos is a horribly designed operating systemWhy?
it took them 13 years to implement an app drawer and widgets to ios, something people have been asking about for ages. they also haven't added a calculator app to ipad because “the design needs to be perfect”. nobody cares about the design of a calculator app. all they want to do is have their ipad solve a sum for them.their usersSame as before, as per my experience they haven't treated me or any of my friends/family badly though, but may not be the same for others.

Sure, Google may be stealing my information and making money off me, but they're providing free services which are very useful, such as Google Docs (to name one of the many). And I'm pretty sure all the information they collect is used to make things like Google Assistant and my search results smarter, which is a good thing in my eyes. I'm not all that bothered by it.
