Hi folks!

We are continuing our work to make updates to our database. See the original announcement for more information here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/537386/

We will continue this work on Monday, September 13th on profile pages. We are planning to keep all comments turned on during this work, but may temporarily turn off profile comments if needed. Hopefully you won’t notice the update is happening, but we wanted you to know that we’re working on the comment database just in case we do need to temporarily turn off comments.

Like last time, this will only be temporary for a few hours while we are doing this work. This is not a change to the way the commenting system works, just how the data is stored. Once we’ve made the change, you’ll still be able to make new comments and read existing comments exactly as you had before.

So will this stop our access from the website or no? Sometimes when the website is being worked on it shows a screen to me saying “The scratch page is in maintenance” I see this when I'm on the messages page for some reason when this happens. Is it because of this?
