Well then I think it's just a layout thing/issue or coincidence. I'd suggest putting this in the suggestions forum to have it aligned

the main reason theres so much space on the left and on the right of each page was to fit the 4:3 aspect ratio many monitors had when scratch was first created.
nowadays like no one uses 4:3 anymore so when the st redesigned it they just made it look normal for newwer devices.
im pretty sure that in the future when other pages get redesigned they will look like that too.

The project tiles were made unnecessarily large and they probably wanted to fit three per row.
