Nintendo Switch OLED

Just today, Nintendo announced a new Switch, called the Nintendo Switch OLED.

It has a 7.0 Inch OLED screen, as opposed to the 6.2 LCD on the original Switch. It will have 64 GB of memory, which is double of the current switch. There is no performance upgrade, or 4K, as rumors originally suggested. It will be launched at the price of $350.00

atleast it's only $50 more than the base switch because it's not really that amazing of an upgrade lol

why upgrade when it only has slightly better features and it costs more than the original (hey look that’s two bad business decisions this week, the studio update and nintendo switch oled)

At least it doesn't break the pattern for handhelds. Keep releasing new models of the same thing. (ex: gameboy and ds)

Perhaps so. The OLED was somewhat underwhelming and the studio update was just u p s e t t i n g . How are RPs or manager chats supposed to work now?! Anyway, this is about the OLED.

OLED Stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. I honestly don't know much more than that, except that its supposed to be better than LCD.

I think the technology is owned by LG, so they must’ve gotten permission from them to use their technology

I have a newer pair of controllers which I have had for over a year now and I have never once had joy con drift on them. (My old ones started having it about a few months to a year after I got them) And my initial pair (from about 4 years ago now) were almost unusable for awhile, but but I recently re-charged them, and they drifted once. They felt fine this time. So either I got really lucky or joy con drift has been fixed.

I am extremely thankful it's nothing special. Now I don't feel the need to get one and spend all my money.

Yeah, but it's not though. The Wii U was an entirely new console. The Switch OLED is just another Switch, akin to the 3DS XL.

It's in the exact same boat as the Switch Lite. In fact, it;s the same thing- just one's a cheaper model and one isn't.

honestly, I'm not that disappointed because I knew that the rumors would probably not be true-
also, I thought it was neat for the most part-

This topic should have some more attention, the Nintendo Switch: OLED Model will be fully available very soon! I'm excited about more internal storage. And Mario Party: Superstars!

NitroTyper3000 wrote:

You mean storage? Memory is usually short for RAM.

Always gonna happen with Joy-Con controllers, isn't it… at least Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers don't have drift, but I don't use those yet.

Drift has been fixed? …Through software? …How does that work? Anyway, sounds partly like my experience, even though I have seen drift on at least one of my Joy-Con controllers, I don't remember my current black pair ever developing any drift.

If I remember right, OLED has pixels which make their own light, whereas LED and LCD have to use a backlight.
