UK Code-Club and Scratch
Hello there,
We have setup a Code-Club in our school run by volunteers that uses Scratch to teach 9 to 11 year olds the fun and basics of programming.
See www.codeclub.org.uk. It is run by volunteers as an after school activity.
We had just purchased a load of Raspberry pi as the most efficient way of encouraging the kids to tinker. We just hook them up to the existing monitors and keyboards.
Now with 2.0 we are slightly stuck.
Yes we could use the old P4 computers, yet the Raspberry were able to be taken home and used after code club for homeworks etc with 1.4.
Now we are stuck.
It seems that the kids will be forced to use a standard windows machines and miss out on the joys of tinkering and making other projects with their pi's.
Is the any chance that any future or existing releases can be made to work on the pi's?
The kids will be very disappointed if we have to ditch the pi's, so am looking for a good answer for them.
Many thanks

You could use 1.4, and I believe a scratch modification c++ version of Scratch called Itchy++ made by scratchers is being developed for raspberry pis.
Pugluv4ever is 2 lazy to create a signature right now.
Try again later.

Aha, thank you, yes, we use 1.4, so will continue, and would be very interested to try out Itchy++ as soon as it appears. Sounds great.
