Why does the font on my Scratch blocks look different than the ones on the tutorials?
So, I saw this on the tutorials:

The font looks bolded, but my blocks don't have that:

Can someone tell me why?
wait, did i just freeze QaS? sorry

Sometimes if you zoom out a page with text, the text may appear different.

The Scratch Team may be using a different browser/operating system than you

Sometimes if you zoom out a page with text, the text may appear different.I don't think that's what happened here as the font appears bold.
The Scratch Team may be using a different browser/operating system than youI think that might be what happened since according to ScratchStats.com a lot of the ST members use Macs, and looking at the blocklyText CSS I see this:

???? Where is Arial? I can literally change my browser default sans-serif font to Comic Sans and it will think that's the font I need to make the blocks!

The serif font is the browser's default font too…
I can't believe how many people's font is arial!
Anyways, Helvetica is bolder:

The tutorials were all made in an earlier version of 3.0, back when they used Helvetica instead of Arial, which is what they use now.

Ahhhhhh! Arial has a bold variant as well! Why is that not being used? For some reason Scratch sets the font weight to 500 (regular is 400, bold is 900 (edit: I'm not sure why I wrote this – bold is 700)). I think Helvetica Neue has this variant, but Arial doesn't.

I think they should just make the text bold – that would work with all fonts.oh dear. any alternative fonts that the ST can add?Ahhhhhh! Arial has a bold variant as well! this looks like apple's font (sf pro), and helvetica neue is similar to sf pro, or you don't have the fonts and the sans-serif font is set to a bold version of sf pro/helvetica neue
someone give me a list of the best sans-serif fonts to set as default, im tired of arial
