You should mute people who comment the word "hate"
I have noticed that a lot of people have been commenting the word “hate” On projects they don't like. I think the scratch team should mute people who say the word hate in the comments. Some people don't know there bounderys and need to learn them. Don't believe me? Well just ask around! I really want people to be given POSITIVE feed back, not negative feed back that makes them feel like losers. Please scratch team mute people who comment the word hate in a negitive way

There are quite a number of uses for “hate” that aren't geared towards someone's creation. “I hate homework” is one example.

Even though “hate” is not a good word, the posters above ^^^ have a point. “Hate” is sometimes just another word to express their feelings and their thoughts. Besides, not all comments are leaning towards someone's creation, and you can't just mute people for that.

Yeah, it all depends on context. No support.

Even if you do type the term ‘Hate’, it does not always mean you are hating on someone or their Projects. So, I oppose on this one.
Swear words, however? People who use those should be muted.

The OP did say to mute those who use the word in a negative way. It might be a good idea to make the filter prevent one from posting a comment which isn't a reply and has no words but “hate.”

If they were talking about a project then they would probably say something along the lines of ‘I hate this project’.

There's no way to tell whether they meant that people were just commenting ‘hate’, they could have just phrased that sentence poorly.I have noticed that a lot of people have been commenting the word “hate” On projects they don't like.

Why would someone just type ‘hate’? If they were talking about a project then they would probably say something along the lines of ‘I hate this project’.I agree, though that's sort of what I had the impression the OP's first sentence was talking about. (People may make comments like “bad,” though.)

What? Saying “I hate homework” encourages bad behaviour? Za-Chary is just pointing out a flaw in the sugggestion. It’s not even that bad of a wordThere are quite a number of uses for “hate” that aren't geared towards someone's creation. “I hate homework” is one example. It's not a positive thing to say and can encourage frequent negativity and reluctance to preform the action.

No support. “hate” like @Za-Chary said, can be used for many reasons. Like it could be even used for doing good things like saying “Stop commenting hate on random projects” or something like that. Or they could just be giving feedback like "What i like about the project is that you can move the cat but what i hate about the project is that you cannot move gobo." So i don't think you should do that.

People could say
I hate having to run!and they would be muted. There are no bots that exist that can detect context, and they would be difficult to program.
