The ROBLOX devs cancelled Anthro. The very content creators they were gearing Anthro towards said they'd refuse to implement it.

Is anyone older than me on Roblox? I joined back in November 2009, back when the way to move was clicking a green circle, and the lit games were Survive the Disasters, The Longest Roblox Obby 2009 (it was huge for it's time, 65 levels) an that one Freeze Tag game?

The site was great from 2009-2012 and okay from 2013-2015, but started dropping when the mods did a YouTube and went where the money was (in this case focusing on cracking money out of under 11s).

We've heard nothing more of Anthro, when normally they'd be slapping together demos and other things to show it off and hype it up

a) textures are somewhere on Roblox
b) roblox package contents

and there is a folder called ‘anthro’

December 2008 here, so I remember all those places and more.

I really liked a “survival” game that was actually more of a building game on an island landscape, I always built small villages and towers. But right after I joined was the time ROBLOX started catering to a wider audience, and these “simpler” places stopped being the most played (i.e. frontpage) games.

In 2009 I became rich by making a dumb free model obby which people liked because it had ninja suits (seriously). I won about 30K tickets in some 3 days. So I immediately traded some for ROBUX, bought a Fedora (among the most expensive hats back then - 9000 R$ I think?) and then on the following years I did currency trading to earn some more and buy more random stuff.

I'm pretty sure keyboard movement was always a thing though

it's pretty much the only way you can play the old school fighting games (SFITH, Crossroads)

The folder is most likely a leftover artifact, many professional companies accidentally leave stuff like that when they ship builds out.

no because there would be fewer reasons to buy robux = less money for ROBLOX
