Pyonkee - Scratch 1.4 on iPad
We are pleased to announce “Pyonkee”. The world's first real Scratch 1.4 environment on iPad. Anyone can download it from App Store for free now.
https://apps.apple.com/app/pyonkee/id905012686
Pyonkee is written by Masashi Umezawa and it is based on Scratch 1.4 Source Code from MIT Media Lab. So there is no Scratch cat, logo and project sharing feature (except emailing projects).
Some Scratchers might remember John M. McIntosh's Scratch Viewer for iOS. That was removed from App Store by Apple four years ago. Pyonkee refers to JMM and other pioneers great works. Pyonkee's source code is available on GitHub.
https://github.com/SoftUmeYa/Pyonkee
Enjoy!

It was the first thing I thought about doing when I opened the app.Nice try, though! Now if only we could mod this. I tried the sprite size bug to get the Squeak debugger to appear but the app detects “crashes” and reloads the image.

Anyone else find it kind of sad that Apple rated a children's programming app 17+?

Apple automatically gives 17+ rating, if that application has an external web link.
And Pyonkee has a link to Scratch web site.

Hmm… that makes sense. Apple's rules seem kind of strange, though. Apple automatically gives 17+ rating, if that application has an external web link.

The only thing I really want to do with this app is hack it, but the debugger causes it to restore the Squeak image. If only there were a way to inject Squeak code somehow to open the Squeak browser.

Please imagine if Pyonkee is made for mod. I guess that Apple remove it from App Store without hesitation.
We open all of source code. So you can build it to make your own mod.

Good point. Are there instructions on the Github repository for compiling a modded version of Pyonkee? Please imagine if Pyonkee is made for mod. I guess that Apple remove it from App Store without hesitation.

Or you can just run Snap! on an iPad… Build Your Own Pyonkee Blocks would be cool.

The problem with that is that when you tap an input, you can't type in it; your on-screen keyboard doesn't show up. Tried on my Kindle Fire and that's what happened…Good point. Only Android tablets have that problem (and it's a known bug). iPads work just fine. The problem with that is that when you tap an input, you can't type in it; your on-screen keyboard doesn't show up.
