Bump and support. And to preempt the anti-necroposting crusaders, I'd like to point out that this discussion has by no means been resolved. The issue still remains, I'm pretty sure there's been no official ruling on this suggestion, and there's really no doubt that there is still interest in having this implemented.

I just don't get how it would work. When you quote a post, would it just have </everyBBCodeTagHere>?

This would be nice, but the way the forum works with regexes, that isn't as easy as you would think. What would be a better way to implement this would simply be showing people where errors are. I do this in FutureBB (a forum system I mostly developed), and it looks like this:

I think that would be a more technically feasible solution to this. Here is the source code for those who are interested in seeing how I coded it.

The only programs that do this are programs specifically for programming. I would support jvvg's idea, but for your idea, semi-support, as it could get annoying.

Perhaps a feature that you could turn on/off?
