Clickable links in descriptions of own projects

When viewing your own projects, you can't click links in the description, which means you have to copy and paste URLs into the address bar just to open them. What do people think about this?

I think the solution would be to have the links clickable, and when part of the description that isn't a link is clicked it goes into ‘edit mode’. When you click away it would go back to having clickable links.

Also, @kvackkvack has suggested this should apply to the boxes on profile pages as well:

This should work on profiles too - I for example link to another profile there but can't actually click the link myself.

@rollercoasterfan has suggested having a button to switch between viewing and editing modes:

It could be abused. People could send others to an innapropriate site

when green flag clicked
if <(language) = [English ]> then

say [Everything is Awesome!] for (2) secs
end
if <(language) = [French ]> then

say [Tout est super-genial!] for (2) secs
end
if <(language) = [Italian ]> then

say [E meraviglioso!] for (2) secs
end
if <(language) = [Spanish ]> then

say [Todo es fabuloso!] for (2) secs
end

No it couldn't because it already filters links to sites outside Scratch.

Edit: I think you probably misunderstood the first post, I changed it to make it clearer what I meant.

Support for a way to view your own project page as though you were not the creator. To see how others see your project, without needing to log out. Browser privacy modes do offer a(n inconvenient) workaround.

For URLs, some browsers let you search on selected text or open it by right click (then context menu option).

Maybe more of a visual editor?

Support. I always find this annoying, because I can't tell whether a link worked.

I was going to say it was abusable, but:

Scratch always will filter external links, if not some. This suggestion really could just be proposing the idea of links for only scratch.mit.edu.

Scratch already highlights links that are in this domain.

It already does. the problem is that you can't click them if they are in your own project notes or profile.

Support for a way to view project descriptions, profile descriptions and studio descriptions as if you aren't the curator. Maybe a button to switch between edit mode and read-only mode?

Quite the bump, eh? Well, this still should be implemented so I guess there's nothing wrong with bringing it up here again.

It could have a button to switch between view and edit mode, or it could only switch into edit mode if you click part of the description that is not a link.

Full support! in fact, I was going to write the same thing! How about you add my suggestion into yours- Scratch could add an Edit button by which we can go into Edit mode. Otherwise, it would stay in Normal mode!
