Colors: 236 words
Anchovy (a greyish-brown)- This reminds me of something industrial, like a city or factory.
Casa Talec (light pink/salmon color)- Some kind of cherry blossoms, something oriental.
Tyrian Purple (light purple/lavender)- It has a cold feeling to it, sort of like an early winter, a frost over a flower.

My setting will be a large city in early winter. It’s very crowded in the city areas, and sometimes can get foggy from the smog being released in the air. A lot of people in this city tend to retreat to the park. The park has a small river that flows through it, where different kinds of fish populate it. When walking through the park in the spring, beautiful cherry trees grow. An oriental gazebo sits perched on the side of the river in the park. At the time of the story, the city has a light frost over everything. Beautifully colored flowers and once lush green bushes are now lightly dusted with a thin layer of frost. The river is beginning to get frozen over, the edges starting to ice over just a bit. People are walking around in light coats, dusting the slight snow off of benches as they prepare to sit down and watch the birds. People from this city have learned to be cautious and to not trust people easily, there’s always a fear of getting robbed or betrayed.

Candles: 218

Angel’s Wings
It’s a bright white color, with the label being a photo of the wings of an angel and a white rose. The fragrance notes are Sugarcane, Glazed Caramel, Sheer Muguet, Sugared Marshmallow, Sweet Jasmine Petals, Vanilla Bean, White Musk, Creamy Amber, Malted Vanilla. I imagine this character to be very sweet, judging by the vanilla, caramel, and sugar cane. They’d probably wear very light clothing- perhaps a white top and some kind of skirt/pants? I feel like they would be very bubbly and positive, always trying to find the good part of people, though this could lead them to become too trusting and put too much faith in people who don’t deserve it or have any hope.

Midsummer’s Night
This candle is a big contrast to the first one. This one has a dark black color, with a picture of a night sky on the label. The scent notes are: Citrus, Herbaceous, Woody, Bergamot, Lime, Lavender, Pine Floral Sage, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Juniper Berry, Clary Sage, Moss. I think this character would definitely wear some kind of dark clothing. I feel like they would come across as a dark, emo, loner person, but once someone gets to know them they’re sweet, shown by the Citrus, Lavender, and Pine Floral Sage scent notes.

~Story~

“You got a package for me?” Sebastian slowly asked the smiling woman standing in front of him. She had platinum blonde hair and was wearing all white. Her outfit was so bright Sebastian couldn’t look straight at her.
“Yep!” She told him. He slowly and cautiously grabbed the bag wrapped in brown paper from her hands.
“Who’s it from?” Sebastian asked the woman. She then decided to sit on the bench next to him, causing him to scooch over to the edge of the bench. She didn’t answer his question, she simply stared at the package he held in his hands. “Should I open it here?” She looked him straight in the eyes and nodded. He opened it up and it was a strange, purple book. It seemed very old, the pages had yellowed on the edges and it stuck together just a little bit when he opened it up. He looked up to ask the woman again, but noticed that everything seemed frozen. The only things still moving were him and the woman.
“Who… who are you?” He asked her. She smiled.
“Call me Cora.” She smiled as she said that. “And you are quite the special individual, aren’t you?” She booped Sebastian’s nose as he sat there in complete shock. Cora then took a minute to analyze Sebastian’s outfit. A dark purple sweater, black hair, black pants, overall quite the contrast to her own style. He’s probably wearing a Shrek shirt under his hoodie. Cora thought to herself.
“What does this book do? Why is no one else moving? How is this happening?” Sebastian panicked as he snapped back to reality. He was so very confused. His whole life he’d been, at least to an extent, normal. There was nothing too different about him compared to other kids. He was the emo kid who listened to My Chemical Romance and lived in his parents’ basement. Never had he had cool powers, or stunning realizations, he wasn’t overly smart, either. Why was all this happening suddenly? Cora, once again, didn’t reply to Sebastian’s questions. She simply silenced him with her finger.
“Don’t worry, I’ll answer all your questions in just a minute.” She smiled sweetly. “Follow me.” Now, Sebastian knew that it probably wasn’t a great idea to follow some random lady that walked up to him on the street. For all he knew, she would bring him over to a dark alleyway and rob him. Yet… he felt like he knew this girl. She seemed so very familiar to him. He decided to follow her as she led him down the dirt path to a white gazebo that sat on the side of a river. He’d visited this spot more than once before, he’d sat here alone listening to music several times.
Cora brushed the light frost off of the bench in the gazebo and sat down. She patted the spot next to her, notioning for Sebastian to sit next him. He was still confused. He couldn’t hear the wind that normally rustled in the trees during this time of the year. No one was talking. The birds weren’t flying. Everything was silent and eerie.
“Would you mind giving me the book for a minute?” Cora asked him. He nodded it and passed it to her. She waved her hand and suddenly everything started moving again. The wind began again, the chirps of birds started playing, the river was flowing again. Cora laughed as she looked at Sebastian in complete shock once again.
“Look at the trees.” She said as she got serious again. “Look at the river. Observe the weather.” Sebastian listened and looked around. It all seemed so familiar here, but he wasn’t sure what it was. “Do you… feel anything?”
“No.” He wasn’t sure whether or not he was lying about it. Sure, he knew the place. It was kind of a comfort area, but nothing too recognized or definable about the way he felt towards this place. He turned to the left to see that a singular tear fell from Cora’s eye, but she wiped it away swiftly.
She quickly recovered and acted happy again. Sebastian had experience with people faking emotions before, so he could see that her joy was completely fabricated, unlike before.
“Alright! That’s fine!” Cora’s voice broke a little bit as she said this, but she brushed it off. “Are you ready for a quick story time?”
“I suppose, I don’t have anything else to do today.” Sebastian said. He didn’t have much focus on his words, he was more focused on her expression at this point.
“A long time ago, there were different beings that ruled the earth. Humans, demons, and protectors. Humans were typical human beings that you see everyday. That’s what most of the population is now. They don’t have any types of special powers. Demons were either born and raised in hell, taught of hatred and bloodshed or they’re humans who lived thirsty for the souls of humans and protectors. Protectors, on the other hand, were humans that were reborn. In order to become a protector, though, you’d had to have done great feats in your past life. If a protector dies, they become reborn again, but lose all memory of their past life. If a protector helps the demons, they become one. Once someone becomes a demon, they cannot be redeemed.” Cora’s voice changed a bit as she said that lost line, too. Sebastian could tell that there was something about that sentence that Cora herself didn’t agree with. He wasn’t going to bring it up to her, of course, he didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable at all. After all, they’d just met a few minutes ago. “Then, there was a big war. Of course, you won’t know about this, because it isn’t in any textbooks or anything. Only a very, very small handful of humans know about the war. It was erased from most people’s memories. The war was against demons and humans. Protectors came to save the humans and diverted the demons away. In the end, the demons ended up getting locked away in three separate prisons: the Dark Woods, Black Sands Island, and the mirror canyon.”
“What does any of this have to do with me?” Sebastian asked her, brushing off the other thoughts. Cora smiled and stood up.
“You, my dear friend, are a protector!” As she said this, she brought her arms out and smiled. “You must’ve been really great in your past life to get this honor.”
“And what are you?” He asked Cora. She smiled a bit.
“I’ve been a protector for a while now. I wasn’t around for the war, but I’ve survived long enough to master most of my powers and keep peace and order between worlds. Now, the council has granted me the ability to help a new protector to become a great protector!”
