What does remixing do?
Remixing a project makes a new project, with everything from the project you clicked remix on. Then the user who remixed the project can change stuff up and share the remix. Above the Instructions field there will be credit to the original creator of the project, but it is still recommended to give credit in the Notes and Credits section. Make sure to change stuff in your remix, or your account will get an alert or a ban. This should also be in the Questions about Scratch forum.

Remixing basically makes an exact copy of the project you remixed, and saves it to the person who clicked remix's profile. But they are 2 seperate projects/copies, so if someone edit's the remix, it won't change the original project.
