Un-censor the word “homophone”

Seriously, what is wrong with it? I was commenting on someone’s learn spelling project and it just said “Nice, but maybe try not using a homophone next time?” And the bad word detector showed up. I checked, when I took the word “homophone” out it was fine.

i would like to sincerely apologize for the above post.

i am stupid, weird, worthless, and in general a bad person but at least i am decent at platformers.

Yeah, that could be it. The word “homophobe” is not censored though, so why would homophone be?

Yes, the word for two words that have the same sound and different meanings, comprising of heterographs, homonyms, and alternate spellings of the word; the pinnacle of society. If you're not talking homophones in general, you can use one of the more specific terms:

Heterograph: words that sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings (their, there)
Homonym: words that sound the same and are spelt the same but have different meanings (tire (wheel), tire (fatigue))

That being said, I don't know why this is censored. It's not like “homophobe” is a particularly bad word, and it would more ridiculous than clear as a substitute. “You're a homophone!”

The letters N and B are next to each other on the QWERTY keyboard. Maybe the Scratch Team accidentally misspelled some code in their Bad Word Detector and thus accidentally asked it to filter “homophone” instead of the one with B?

Well, that would make sense, because they don't seem to have an intention to filter out the one with the N, so they need to censor only one of the two but they typed the wrong one.

Because the letter N and the one that lets you complete the swear word aren't very close together on the QWERTY keyboard (unlike N and B) so the Scratch Team likely didn't mistype it as such and thus the word isn't censored, even though it's apart by only one letter.

That makes alarmingly good sense. It's probably this. I just tested it out (using messages on my profile which I have since deleted) and “homophobe” isn't censored but “homophone” is. It was most likely just a typo.

I got a lot of compliments on my last signature, and I think that's kind of strange. I wrote it when I was 12 and it wasn't very good. I acted like PS4 controllers were the epitome of human technology, for God's sake! I tried too hard to be philosophical, or maybe I tried too hard to be funny, or maybe it was something else. But that signature was bad. It wasn't good. It might be strange for some of you to hear this, seeing as this site is full of kids, but 12-year-old me was practically a baby. I was looking through old Skype messages between me and a friend of mine from when we were 12, and as I read them, I couldn't stop thinking, “Woah. I was the worst.” It's important to know that you're always the worst. I can almost guarantee that future you is thinking negatively of you right now, just as future me is thinking negatively of me. It's important not to let that get to you. Remember to stay in the present. Tomorrow hates you, but it can't hurt you because you'll never get to tomorrow. When I was 10 or 11, I remember seeing the world very cynically. I thought that human life was inherently selfish, and that we were only put on this planet to destroy it. I'm so glad 10 or 11 year old me is gone, because 17 year old me would NOT get along with that kid.

“homophobe”doesn't have anything to do with “homophone”.
A homophone is a word that's pronounced the same way as another word.
