(#271)tmux itself is not a text editor, rather it is a Window Manager designed for terminal interfaces and emulators to allow multiple instances of the shell at once.

should I get VSCode over IDLE?
and notepad for JS
IDLE seems better because it's made for python, but I'm not sure because people have said good things about it recently

Yes, definitely. Intellisense and linting will make your life much easier. Make sure to install these two VScode extensions to get the full result should I get VSCode over IDLE?(make sure that they are from Microsoft and are verified)
and notepad for JSsince vscode is made with JS, you get out-of-the-box linting and suggestions for JS and TS (Typescript)

I've used DrJava a bit in the past. I would use IntelliJ but Android Studio has an identical interface and to be honest I'm afraid of IntelliJ's interface after how much I had to wrangle Android Studio.

Language: With any amount of copy paste from stack overflow I have the power to do all of them.
IDE: Literally all of them, I switch IDEs every once in a while. IDE Hopping.
