Instead of saying "you're not welcome on Scratch", tell why. (appeal)

This is fairly rude to say that a user isn't welcome on Scratch, especially when the guidelines state that everyone is welcome. The Scratch Team should tell the user why they were banned. All this does is cause confusion and ban evasions. Especially when they don't know what they did wrong.

Nope, I remember my friend got IP banned and the email just said “you are not welcome on Scratch”. And here is another example.

It's paraphrased, but I've seen a few screenshots of ban emails that have read something like “…due to your previous activity on your profile, we don't believe that you are willing to use the Scratch website in a safe and respectful manner…”, which many people have translated it to “you're not welcome on Scratch”

They really need to write why.

Big support, personally I think that warnings and stuff in a similar manner can be really vague most of the time, so anything suggesting making moderation stuff less vague gets an approval from me.

Support, there's no reason to say “you're not welcome on Scratch”. Why even write anything at all if it's going to be that vague? This is probably why people ban evade and think they were banned unfairly.

Support, they're about as unconstructive as “No support”
Roblox has a similar “You are not welcome on Roblox” message for when you get banned, but I'm pretty sure there's an actual reason.

Support. This vague and also condescending message is also one of the causes of why there are so many rants on Scratch on YouTube. It also makes people more likely to evade bans. So by changing it to something more meaningful, it would PREVENT a lot of these issues.

That confused me. Why does it say “You do not have the user rights to view this page.”? Your URL seems to be broken.

The page was deleted, causing there to be a 403 Forbidden error which means only authorized people can see it. (posts are just hidden when they get “deleted”)

Support! I feel like people who got banned on Scratch should know why they got banned, and then they would be nicer and not break the CG again.
Roblox has a similar ban reasoning, that is not an entire paragraph:

It doesn't take much time to write, and it stops “WHY WAS MY ACCOUNT BANNED?!?!?!?!” questions.
Please note that the example ban was one of someone's ban videos saying “why was i banned for saying yes?”.

Support, It is the same thing as the police coming into your house and arresting you for no reason.

I agree. It is not very useful to not tell people. I like to say, “If not more important, ‘why’ is equally important as the ‘what’.”

That's because while you're not usually gonna go onto someone else's account to see the ban message, people will sometimes go onto a different IP and the ST does not want to have that on there for anyone to see.
