Why do sound files take to long to save?
Because now that I'm pressed for time really badly and I need to save my scratch project and it won't save fast enough….
And I have to wait 60 seconds between posts and that doesn't help either.

Why do sound files take to long to save?
If I had to guess, probably because sound files are usually large and the upload speed of typical consumer internet is often slow - not even 1 megabyte per second (MB with a capital B, not to be confused with Mb with a lowercase b - that's megabits, which is 1/8 of a megabyte), in many cases. My old internet had an upload speed of (up to) 1 Mbps, and a typical MP3 song is anywhere from 4 to 6 MB depending on the length and bit rate - so just that one song would take anywhere from 32 to 48 seconds. My current internet is a little better, with 3 Mbps upload - but that's still 10 to 15 seconds for that one song.
I've also noticed that saving often takes a lot longer than you may expect based on file size and internet speed - in my experience, it can take about twice as long as you might expect to save.
(If you'd like to measure your upload speed, just go to Fast.com, wait for the download speed test to finish, and then click “show more info” and wait for the upload speed test to finish.)

Aren't sound files .wav in Scratch normally?Kind of? If you edit a sound in Scratch, it will turn into a WAV, and based on my experience helping people with save problems, WAVs seem to be pretty common (although I have no idea where people get them, all the major music/streaming platforms always use compressed audio), but MP3 is supported just as well.
Those are larger files than mp3 iirc right?Yes, because they're uncompressed. 1 minute of CD-quality WAV audio is 10.58 MB, while 1 minute of a 320 kbps MP3 (the highest bit rate supported by MP3, and will probably sound just as good as a WAV to most people) is just 2.4 MB.
