Welcome to scratch! Following people is supposed to be so that you can see what people with projects you like are making. Maybe they make similar projects that you also like. Followed people's projects show up on your home page.

I think spamming follows isn't a very good idea (we here at Scratch don't like spammers)

The Requests section is for offering or asking for help with making Scratch Projects - so this isn't a good fit.

I agree with some of the other posts - try to find people that share your interests and follow them. Use the Search bar to find projects that appeal to you. Good luck
