Windows XP- Can never be replaced
Windows 7 may be great, and Windows 8 may be cool (and Vista may suck), but nothing can ever replace Windows XP! No wonder Microsoft kept it going for 12 years instead of 10!
Post if you agree, and what you love about Windows XP.

Your dad and I have something in common

My dad wanted to find a windows 7 disk and load it into the old computer, but I insisted that I wanted to hold onto Windows XP, so he gave me the responsibility of keeping it going for as long as I can!

I remember.. my first computer… My mom showed me how to use MS paint and WordPad. It was simple enough for me to use at age 6. For hours I would write stories and books on wordpad and them illustrate them in MS paint. Ah good times indeed.

OK, I get that literally, it has been replaced. I am typing this right now on a Windows 8.1 computer, and I also own a Windows 7. I am just writing this a, uh, tribute I guess to Windows XP!

My Windows XP was my first computer. We got it when I was 4 years old and I used to be addicted to playing Dora the Explorer PC games, so I can totally relate to you! Some of my first Scratch 1.4 projects were/are on there!!

I always felt XP was a bloated version of Windows 2000 Professional.

Windows XP- Can never be replaced
When we got a new computer, it came with Windows 7 installed, and in all honesty, I would not like to switch back. Part of it is the fact that I get a sort of… empty feeling using it. The sort I get when I find a site that nobody uses anymore, cold/sunny days, etc. The other bit is that I found XP to be very laggy/glitchy on the old computer (of course, that could have been because of some ancient viruses on there).
Eh, to each his/her own, I suppose.

Agree. Windows XP has frozen a lot for me, and task manager in Windows 7 has always been more reliable. Also, it looks old, point be told. Lastly, it supports less complexity in hardware, I'm pretty sure only 4GB RAM. When we got a new computer, it came with Windows 7 installed, and in all honesty, I would not like to switch back. The majority of Windows XP installations were 32-bit, but 64-bit versions did exist. That said, any machine that came with Windows XP probably didn't have more than 4GB of memory anyway.Agree. I'm still using Windows XP.
One day I will be able to play Team Fortress 2 without excessive lag that usually leads to blue screen of death. But I love Windows XP anyways.

So far, my old computer has had 7 Trojan Viruses, 2 of which were Trojan downloaders. And counting…since using Windows XP now is 5 times more vulnerable than before. Right now, I am looking for a cheap version of Norton to download to kind of replace Windows Security Essentials.
