make it so topic urls have the forum number like this
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/*topic number*/ -> https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/*forum number*/*topic number*/
so people can check for dupes only on suggestions

no one would go checking through each number.

They mean so they could use the Google custom site search for ONLY threads in a specific forum.

I don't know. I usually don't like “they shouldn't implement this because it would be too much work!” as a reason for rejection, but think about how many broken links this would cause. No support, even if it would have some applications

you could make all those links redirect to the normal thing

Yeah, it can get a bit annoying. I'm not sure about my support or no support, but it's definitely a good idea..

Ehh… I still have mixed feelings. Seems like it would cause a headache somehow, but I get where you're coming from.

No support as this would make links much longer.

Fun fact: project links used to look like this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/-InsanityPlays-/449793897/
In 2.0, it was changed to just https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/449793897/
So they would probably reject this for the same reason they changed project links.

but unlike usernames, the forum numbers are only 1 or 2 numbers

I literally had this idea a week ago and was planning to make a topic for it today …
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/1/topic/[topic ID]
redirects to
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/[topic ID]

https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/1/topic/[topic ID]/?page=3#post-[post ID]
redirects to
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/[topic ID]/?page=3#post-[post ID]

https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/1/post/[post ID]
redirects to
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/[post ID]
which redirects to
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/[topic ID]/?page=3#post-[post ID]
and yes, I support [for redirecting, which was my plan :P]
I deserve this for waiting and not just making the topics already XD
