They mean so they could use the Google custom site search for ONLY threads in a specific forum.

I don't know. I usually don't like “they shouldn't implement this because it would be too much work!” as a reason for rejection, but think about how many broken links this would cause. No support, even if it would have some applications

Ehh… I still have mixed feelings. Seems like it would cause a headache somehow, but I get where you're coming from.

Fun fact: project links used to look like this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/-InsanityPlays-/449793897/
In 2.0, it was changed to just https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/449793897/
So they would probably reject this for the same reason they changed project links.

but unlike usernames, the forum numbers are only 1 or 2 numbers

I literally had this idea a week ago and was planning to make a topic for it today …
and yes, I support [for redirecting, which was my plan :P]
