Stop linking Twitter.
Whenever the servers go down, there's a page that links the ST's twitter account. Now, the ST would never post anything innapropriate, but there's nothing stopping you from finding some not-so-kid-friendly stuff.

How would the Scratch Community find out when scratch is coming back online or if there is something new for scratch? I'll check the twitter later to see what they post and edit this post based on my findings.

By that logic, we should ban YouTube, as people could click into another video with inappropriate content.
I'm pretty sure that the ST wouldn't link it if there was a potential for danger.

First the Strawpoll ban, then Cubeupload ban suggestion, now Twitter? I atleast understand the ban of Strawpoll but these other ones seem unnecessary. Twitter is the only way ST can tell it's users when the website goes down (atleast, until they find some sort of alternative)
You can find bad things on literally every website, do you just want to ban everything except Scratch?
Edit: mtech22 said it perfectly

If the ST think it's fine, it's probably fine. They're keeping people informed.

By that logic, we should ban YouTube, as people could click into another video with inappropriate content.Youtube is already somewhat banned. Every youtube link redirects to a special site the ST made that can play youtube videos using the embed feature, but there are no comments, liking/disliking, and no other suggested videos on that site.
I'm pretty sure that the ST wouldn't link it if there was a potential for danger.

I don't think the Scratch Team would post bad things on their twitter account, or link to anything bad. They just show a small embed of the post on the page, which isn't really much.

You'd have to click one of the links to Twitter and then purposefully try and find bad words in order to find them. Essentially, it's not much worse than entering “twitter.com”.

How much of a threat does it really pose?

the Scratch Team are the only people who are allowed to link to twitter because of DMing and lack of moderation. I think we can trust the Scratch Team to not be bad in unmoderated chat. I would also say its hard for a kid to find bad stuff on twitter if they started at the Scratch Team's profile.

im on the fence about this, we cant link to member created sites that link to a discord server for example. i see no difference in the scratch team linking to their Twitter which often gets CG breaking replies to tweets.
that being said, the scratch team's Twitter is a great way to know if there's an outage or something so i feel the functionality outways the chance of bad stuff.

Also why we have Scratch. So why don't we just ban everything?By that logic, we should ban YouTube, as people could click into another video with inappropriate content.

Jokes aside, Twitter can be inappropriate but seeing as millions of kids use YouTube (which turned into a big problem later on) it seems like no harm with Twitter.
Support. People swear on social media. Children as young as four could see that.Kids swear too. Especially these days. People on Scratch have even sweared because they don't disallow the D-word. They also curse on YouTube and Scratch allows that.
There's already a link that leads to the original video due to legal issues so… yeah.By that logic, we should ban YouTube, as people could click into another video with inappropriate content.Youtube is already somewhat banned. Every youtube link redirects to a special site the ST made that can play youtube videos using the embed feature, but there are no comments, liking/disliking, and no other suggested videos on that site.
