Part 1:
Vivinor has magic but it is banned in the Southern country. In the North, magic is more common and is taught in some schools. Only Northerners that graduate from those schools are allowed to use magic. To use magic the caster must have an object such as an amulet or wand to use to cast their spells. There is also natural magic that is used by fey and those types of creatures which is not outlawed. Many different races live in Vivinor but it is mostly humans and a few half elves in the South and Elves in the North. The cities have much more diversity and have tabaxi, teiflings, gnomes, and halflings as well. Riella and Hopesana are the only half elves in their small village of humans and their mother is the only elf. Villages do not usually have police or any type of law enforcers but in the cities, there are city guards. It is up to each village to punish crime in their village and each village has a different set of laws. All the cities in the Southern country have a set system of laws. The Southern country has around 5 cities with one of them being the capital. Southern cities and villages have to follow treaties with the Northern country as well as treaties with the fey. There are a few groups of people that often get away with breaking small rules in the treaties such as harvesting resources that are not theirs. There are four distinct seasons in the South and a rainy and dry season in the North. The climate in the North is similar to Southern California as it is usually sunny and warm. In the South, it snows in the winter and gets pretty hot in the summer. Pretty much everyone in Vivinor speaks Common but people in the North also speak Elven. The clothing styles depend on the region but most people wear medieval or colonial style clothing. The type of clothing usually is directly correspondent to the person’s wealth. For example, Riella and Hopesana’s parents who are bakers wear simple linen shirts, aprons, and pants as well as boots or slip ons. In the winter they wear sweaters and coats. A wealthier noblewoman might wear an embroidered silk gown with flowy sleeves, a woven belt, leather heeled boots, jewelry, and a velvet cloak. Anyone with the money can buy simple weapons but complicated and dangerous weapons are more difficult to access. You do not need a license to own them but the council will confiscate them if they are misused.

Part 3:
Q: What is the name of your world?
A: Vivinor

Q: Right, right… so in Vivinor, are there any sports unlike those of our own?
A: Most of the sports in Riella and Hopesana’s village are extremely informal and are similar to colonial games such as hoop and sticks, jump rope, and hopscotch. In the rest of the world and more populated areas there are more organized sports such as animal racing, archery, jousting, etc.

Q: Are there famous people in your world – singers, models, world leaders, etc.?
A: Most of the famous people in Vivinor are either authors or performers. Riella looks up to many authors that write books on science and technology. Most people know about the councilors of their country but not many other political figures.

Q: Now, this part is very important. Does your world… have memes?
(note from alba: no, I’m not kidding with this question. everywhere has its own memes. everywhere. there are big cultural memes that everyone knows, memes within clubs and groups, and memes between friends. if you take one thing from this entire weekly, give your world its own memes. do it.)
A: Of course there are inside jokes but information does not travel that quickly so widespread memes do not really exist.

Q: Are there different political factions within your world? What different things do people believe?
A: There are five factions loosely based on the dungeon and dragons factions.

Q: Do different levels of class exist in your world?
A: Riella and Hopesana’s village does not have a clear class system but the rest of the country is roughly divided into the lower, middle, and upper class. The Elven country to the North has a stricter class system based on both race and wealth.

Q: Does your world have holidays?
A: Yes, there are celebrations on the first day of every season and celebrations of gods which differ depending on the village. There are holidays for major events such as the death or election of a council member or the anniversary of the ending of the previous war.

Q: Does your world have trends?
A: There are trends within individual villages but usually not across the continent. There are clothing, technological, and musical trends. Trends are more prominent in cities.

Q: Are there museums or memorials – or any sort of way to remember the past?
A: There are memorials in every village at cemeteries and town halls but the museums are usually pretty small. There are museums in cities and many parts of the Elven country. Most of the history is written in books and stored in libraries or recorded orally in songs and poems as around half the people of rural areas are illiterate.
