Well, since Flamestrike and Sandyfire are on patrol, and both have a more personal connection with the missing cats, they could stray away from the patrol to look by themselves out of concern. Ginger can begin by searching for more herbs, but finds foot prints in the ground, and he is compelled to follow them for some reason (they lead to the others). Sparrowpaw could be tracking a squirrel for a hunting assessment when he swears he hears the missing cat call his name. He follows the voice to the place where the others are. Is that ok?

you've basically sorted the story, I got that much, but do you think there might be room to fit in gazethought- the ex leader of a ledgendary 5th clan (well, 6th or 7th technically) that existed simply to watch the other clans.
Gazethought (naturally, being an ex leader) is in very good contact with starclan. Gazethought is a rogue, who stands and watches other cats from a distance when they are alone.
Gazethought only talks to leaders, but at or near the end, during some big fight, when a main character who you care about deeply is about to get run through, gazethought gets in the way, and loses a life, not only saving a life (probably of a cat who was hostile towards him earlier in the story because gazethought was watching him intently from a distance) but also proving himself a clan leader to the other clan leaders who were also suspicious of him because he turned up near them and prophesised to them.
If you're wondering, I developed the idea of and extra clan called mindclan should I eve need it. It turns out I do.
As the move between forests caused great divides between the earth clans and starclan, a group of cats came from nowhere between the power of three and the new prophecy somewhere, and they just turn up and either prophesize or convince to doubtful cats secretly and randomely every now and again when they're needed. They have no territory, and eventually, they disappeared back into nowhere. However, gazethought is the last outstanding one, and has been recorded doing his old job in more than one place at the same time at least twice,
but anyway, can you fit him in? I can voice him.
I'm also a pretty good animator who's spent the last two years trying to show the world what he can do.

Ps gazethought changed his name back from the leader suffix when his clan fell. They were weakened greatly in battle when members of bloodclan who had follwed the great migration, and then began to disappear, however the only cat to see that event was leafpool, and she decided to keep it a secret. Mindclan fought off bloodclan, but all of them save gazethought recieved mortal wounds. Leafpool sat by gazethought and watched them die, as their wounds were fatal.

I wrote this fanfiction, and I've been looking for a chance to continue it, bu I couldn't face writing something when I'm still yet to read anything beyond the last of the new prophecy. I just can't find those books anywhere. I don't particularly wan to buy them, but they aren't in an of the libraries (which, coincidentally are being closed around me.)
I hope my suggestions haven't been too destructive.

It's a bit of a stretch from our original plan, but if Waffle and I can think of a way to fit Gazethought's story into the overall plot, we'll try~
However, I also need Waffle27's opinion as well, so I'll wait for her.

Hm, your right, it is a bit of a stretch, but maybe in the final battle thing with Dark Forest they are losing but then Gazethought leads MindClan into battle? Or maybe just a pretty main battle.
