The Reasons Behind People That Are Leaving

This needs to be sent to EVERYONE in the Scratch Community, we are decintegrating Scratch under our finger tips! We must work together to fix this PLACE OF A ONE OF A KIND COMMUNITY!

I would just like to say please, PLEASE, AND PLEASE! Just do something, I am crying right now because of YOU, EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT, even me! I will be listing reasons why people are leaving and keep in mind it is YOUR FAULT AS WELL AS MINE.

Reasons: THESE HAVE NO ORDER TAKE THEM AS SERIOUSLY AS YOUR LIFE!

1. The harm to others and themselves, the people on the other side of the screen have emotions too!
2. The spam and advertising of the community, unacceptable for a website, even casual ads don't right on spam you with COME LOOK AT THIS, COME LOOK AT THIS, COME LOOK AT THIS!!!!!!! Do they?
3. Projects being swallowed by ADD EVERYTHING, GET 20,000 projects by JULY!, and ALL PROJECTS studios, I mean c'mon guys, we're smarter than that!
4. This is very Important: THIS NOT ABOUT BECOMING FAMOUS YOU GET FAMOUS WHEN YOU GET A JOB, A WIFE, AND A DOG, sheesh! Follow for Follow is stupid, spammy, and an exploit for becoming famous, the goal of scratch was to “Imagine, Program, Share” not “Follow Me I Follow You, Get famous plans done, Say I'm super popular!, and exploit more!”
5. You guys must realize your arguments go no-where but tradegy, the Text-Based Games and Role-Playing Games forum was taken off for flamming which is basically high scale arguments about politics, popularity, countries, etc.
6. After reading this go down and read how you can help…


How You Can Help (I can't explain how angry I am at you guys and myself…)

1. Forget about how much fame you can get, instead help others get better and share your ideas!
2. Making studios that “swallow” projects is bad because no ever goes to those studios and those projects go down the drain, ruining someones hard work! (This is true because people sometimes look first in what studios they are)
3. Try to keep cool, when you can tell a fight is going to break out between the two try to change the subject to cool them down or if you're the one going to be in the fight try the same thing
4. Check out some iTopics about spam and other things! If you want to help stop spam apply for the Spam Police made by me to help stop spam !
5. Harming others does you no good but make you look BAD.

Reasons:
1. Yeah, that can be reported.
2. Spam will almost always happen in online communities. We're finding ways to stop it.
3. Studios don't own the projects in them…
4. Agreed, but no need to call things stupid. It won't get anything done.
5. I don't think the TBGs got taken down for flaming; it was just distracting from the goals of Scratch.

4. Yeah, but IMO I don't see a need for any “police”–just report what you find. Of course, those studios don't hurt.

Do you realize how much it helps when I would say:

1. Report peoples who do bad stuff
2. stop spam now!
3. Studios don't own projects in them woohoo!
4. Calling things Stupid gets nothing done
5. Flammings aren't super important so yeah

It is not so hard to stop spam…
Many people don't want to seem stupid so yeah it does help a bit
The studios seem to help more than you think so let's forget that one
I mean c'mon man that doesn't help, and it doesn't make Scratch any better suggesting these bad ideas no offense.
I will take into fixing making it a better place but the Forum Games was taken down mainly because flamming distracted people and hurt them

Yeah, now you can remove your projects from studios you aren't even curating (check back on your projects once in a while to remove them from AE quietly). I honestly haven't seen enough spam to mark it as a major problem

I think you're being overdramatic, your post ends up sounding more rant-ish than helpful. And helpful tips don't end up being helpful when said in rant-mode. I think most of us are aware of the Guidelines, after all.

Most of what you say is often fixed by this one Community Guideline: Help keep the site friendly. If you think a project or comment is mean, insulting, too violent, or otherwise inappropriate, click “Report” to let us know about it. You'd be surprised at how many things are more quickly resolved this way. No need to be angry, just apply this Guidelines to yourself. In other words: Keep calm and Scratch on.
