so, I need to work on my part for this MAP, but the og project has a variable in it that I can't delete. when I right click it, all that shows up is
normal readout
large readout
slider
nothing I do will make it go away, and I reeeaaally need it gone ó~ò

You can't… from the variable on the player. Try this: find and right-click on the variable block

(my variable)//(this)

on the blocks palette to the left, then select “Delete variable”.
